Monki Shirt
I've decided I've been neglecting a monthly favourites feature for too long. I've always hesitated to write them since I don't regularly buy beauty products or clothes every month but then I thought why not just include all of the stuff I've loved during the month. So here are my various February favourites.

I popped into Monki on February 13th and found this wonderful t-shirt. There was a special 14% off offer in celebration of Valentine's Day so how could I say no? I love the illustrations on it and I can't wait until the weather warms up so I can wear it. It's gonna be a while though I'm sure. Screw you English weather, screw you.

I started Ms. Marvel with Kamala Khan a while ago and read the two most recent volumes this month. Kamala Khan is the new Ms. Marvel, a Muslim Pakistani-American girl who one night finds herself with the ability to shapeshift. Being a huge fan of superheroes, she takes on Ms. Marvel's name as her secret identity. The comics are as much about her fighting crime as they are to do with her being a teenager and having to deal with strict parents, school, and boys from time to time. She's a great heroine and someone that a lot of people can relate to, which is why I've stuck with the comics. Some pretty huge things happen in the two latest volumes and I'm really looking forward to the next one.

I got around to playing the gem that is Undertale and it definitely lives up to the hype. It's a retro style RPG with buckets and buckets of personality and charm. You play a human who falls down into some ruins where monsters were sealed away long ago as the result of a war between the two species. As you try to find your way home, you can choose whether you want to kill all the monsters you encounter or settle things peacefully. I played as a pacifist because I wanted the happy ending. Also, the battles for the pacifist route are great. Complimenting frog monsters, petting dog monsters, flirting with a skeleton...good times! The story is also wonderful, the characters are unforgettable, and I'm going to stop now before I fill the whole page with my love for Undertale. Check it out on Steam if you're interested!

Where do I even begin?! This month I've been enjoying Season 2 of Agent Carter, started Twin Peaks again, been slowly getting through Mad Men (and I mean slowly) but I think I'll just talk about the two shows that I actually finished this month.

The first is Over The Garden Wall, a cartoon miniseries that aired on Cartoon Network in 2014. There are only ten episodes which are ten minutes long - perfect for someone with my attention span. It follows Wirt and his younger step-brother Greg who are lost in the woods and trying to find their way home. I loved the old fairy-tale-like feel to the show with all the creepiness left in, and boy does it start off on a creepy note. There are lighthearted episodes to balance it out though, which is nice since the show can actually get kind of scary. It's a little sad that the series is so short but seeing as it wraps up wonderfully at the end, it doesn't feel like it needs anything more.

RWBY Season 3 also ended this month. I'm not sure if I've mentioned the show on the blog before but I am a big fan. RWBY (pronounced Ruby) is an animated show from Rooster Teeth which started out with our teenage protagonists going to school to learn how to fight Grimm (creepy monsters). This season, however, took a very dark turn. It was cool to see things get serious, especially as it is a show with deadly monsters (and people!). If you haven't seen it, I definitely recommend it. The first two seasons aren't even that long so it's easy to catch up.

And that's it for this month. Maybe next month I should buy a tonne of stuff to write about. Hopefully next month I'll have some stuff to write about. See you in March!

  1. Love your tee, the print is super cute! :)

  2. That tee is adorable! I've been intrigued by Mrs Marvel, I think having a Muslim protagonist is so important. And my housemate introduced me to Over The Garden Wall, such a unique show! Xx www.britishmermaid.blogspot.co.uk

    1. Ms Marvel is definitely something a lot of people need to read right now.
And your housemate has awesome taste! Unique is a good word for Over the Garden Wall haha

  3. That Monki shirt is great! One of my friends works for them and she's one of the girls illustrated on that t-shirt, how cool is that?!
